This program introduces peers and peer specialists, teaches ways to be sensitive and empowering to parties with mental health experiences, shares lessons learned from the DRMH Initiative’s 5-Day Basic Mediation Training for Peer Specialists, and describes three key roles mental health peers can play in our conflict resolution communities.

Supporting Families Experiencing Mental Health Conflicts

This program builds on the prior “Welcoming Mental Health Peers” program and shifts focus to family mental health conflicts.  After a quick recap of key concepts from the prior program, it explores different kinds of family mental health conflicts, different roles family members can play, common power imbalances, and trauma-informed approaches.
